About me
Hi again! I am Julia. I currently live in Los Angeles and work remotely as a Director of Operations for a US subsidiary of a Swiss medical device company. I got my UX Design certificate from the General Assembly in August 2022.
I came into UX from a background of operations, logistics, and customer service. Those experiences gave me a lot of exposure to various needs and frustrations of different businesses and users. My experience working for a government contractor was especially memorable because I got to use government websites a lot and saw the inefficiencies and poor user experience they were offering. While managing operations at my current company, (which is a small US subsidiary) I got to experience every aspect of the business and the challenges of growing a US presence and building a brand. I also got to manage the project of revamping the company’s website and work on improving a customer form on the site. That experience gave me a first taste of UX Design and made me realize that I want to get proper training and learn the tools enabling me to work in this field.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors! I am an adventure-seeker and really enjoy hiking, snowboarding, and rock-climbing.
